NDIS cleaning in Melbourne

NDIS Cleaning That Fits Around Your Routine

Household cleaning planned around you: the areas that matter, the times that suit and the way you like things done. We provide cleaning support where your service arrangement permits it, and we'll talk it through with you, or with the person helping you, before anything is booked.

What NDIS cleaning means, in plain English

The same household cleaning anyone might book, arranged around one person's home, routine and preferences.

“NDIS cleaning” usually describes domestic cleaning arranged for an NDIS participant: keeping the kitchen, bathroom, floors and living spaces clean on a regular basis. It's practical household help, not a clinical service.

A clean home is simply easier to live in. For many people, knowing the cleaning happens on a set day, done the same way each time, makes it easier to plan the rest of the week and to know what to expect when someone comes into the home.

No two people need the same thing. One person might want the whole home cleaned weekly; another might only need help with the bathroom and floors each fortnight. Some people prefer to be home, others prefer a quiet visit while they're out. That's why we start by discussing what you actually need, rather than offering one fixed package.

You can arrange it yourself, or someone who supports you can get in touch on your behalf. Either way, the cleaning should fit the person and their home.

Your routine

Start with what you need

Work through the five steps at your own pace. There are no wrong answers, and you can skip anything.

Which areas need attention?

Choose any that apply.

Step 1 of 5

What we can help clean

Ordinary household cleaning, room by room. You choose which areas are included, and anything can be left out.

  • Kitchen

Benchtops, sink, stovetop area, visible cupboard fronts and the floor.

  • Bathroom

Basin, shower, bath, toilet, mirror and the floor.

  • Bedrooms

Dusting reachable surfaces and cleaning the floor, around belongings you'd like left as they are.

  • Living areas

Dusting, wiping surfaces and cleaning floors where everyday life happens.

  • Laundry area

Wiping the sink and benches, and cleaning the floor.

  • Floors

Vacuuming and mopping hard floors, and vacuuming carpeted areas.

  • Dusting

Reachable shelves, sills, skirting and furniture surfaces.

  • General surfaces

Handles, switches, tables and other surfaces used through the day.

Different homes, different routines

The service should fit the person and their home, rather than asking everyone to fit the same routine. Here are two very different, equally valid ways the same questions can be answered.

Cleaning priorities
A:“The bathroom, every visit”
B:“Kitchen first, then floors”
Schedule
A:“Every Tuesday morning”
B:“Fortnightly, around appointments”
Communication
A:“A text the day before”
B:“A call to a family member”
Access
A:“Someone home to let us in”
B:“A lockbox code, agreed in advance”
Household routine
A:“Quiet mornings, cleaning after lunch”
B:“Busy afternoons, cleaning early”
Level of help
A:“The whole home”
B:“Two or three rooms only”
Preferred areas
A:“Leave the study untouched”
B:“Extra time in the kitchen”

Getting started

How we approach the first clean

It starts with a conversation, not a checklist.

  1. 01

    Listen

You: “Here's my home, and here's what's hard to keep on top of.”

Us: We ask about the home, the areas that matter and anything we should know before visiting.

  2. 02

    Understand

You: “This is how my week usually runs.”

Us: We talk through timing, access, communication and preferences, so the visit fits in rather than disrupting things.

  3. 03

    Plan

You: “Can we start with the kitchen and bathroom?”

Us: We agree the scope, the order of priorities and how often cleaning will happen, and put it in the quote.

  4. 04

    Clean

You: “Please leave the desk as it is.”

Us: The first clean follows what was agreed, with care around belongings and the areas you've asked us to leave.

  5. 05

    Review

You: “That worked, but can we swap the order next time?”

Us: We check in afterwards. If something should change, the routine can be adjusted.

Routine cleaning

Most people choose regular cleaning: weekly, fortnightly or another schedule we agree together. The same day, a similar time and the same agreed tasks each visit make the service easier to plan around and easier to manage.

A consistent routine also means less to explain each time. Once priorities and preferences are agreed, they carry over from visit to visit, and they can change whenever your needs do.

The day and time are confirmed when the service is arranged, depending on availability. If a visit needs to move, let us know as early as you can.

One-off and deeper cleaning

A one-off clean is different from a regular visit. It's usually longer and more focused, and it's often the starting point for a routine. It can help with:

  • Catching up on cleaning that has built up over time
  • Preparing a home before a new routine begins
  • Giving extra attention to a few selected areas
  • Resetting a space before regular cleaning starts

For heavier build-up across the home, a deep clean may suit better. For ordinary ongoing upkeep, see house cleaning, and if someone is moving out of a rental, end of lease cleaning. Specialist work isn't included; see what may need a different service.

Communication and access

Before the first visit, it helps to share a few practical things. Tell us as much or as little as you like; it all helps the visit feel predictable.

  • Preferred arrival window

A time of day that suits you, and times to avoid.

  • Access instructions

Who will let us in, or how keys and codes are arranged.

  • Areas to prioritise

Where to start, and where the most time should go.

  • Household preferences

Products you prefer, shoes off, lights, doors or music.

  • Pets

Any animals at home and how they're best managed.

  • Sensitive areas

Rooms, items or belongings to leave untouched.

  • How to communicate

Calls, texts or email, and how much contact you'd like.

  • If plans change

Who to contact if a visit needs to move.

Families, carers and support coordinators

The first call often comes from someone other than the person receiving the service, and that's fine. We'll discuss the cleaning requirement with the appropriate person, and agree who to contact about visits and changes.

  • The participant

You can contact us directly about your own home and cleaning.

  • A family member

Arranging cleaning for someone in the family, with their agreement.

  • A carer

Organising household cleaning as part of day-to-day support.

  • A support coordinator

Looking for a cleaning provider on a participant's behalf.

  • Another authorised person

Someone the participant has asked to help arrange things.

We arrange the cleaning. We don't coordinate NDIS funding or manage plans.

Funding and NDIS arrangements

This is general information, not funding or legal advice.

  • NDIS funding arrangements vary from person to person and plan to plan.
  • Not every cleaning service is automatically funded, and cleaning isn't automatically claimable.
  • What can be funded depends on the person's circumstances and what's in their plan.
  • Rules about which providers can be used can depend on how a plan is managed.
  • Please confirm with the NDIS, your plan manager or your support coordinator that the cleaning you want is covered under your arrangement before booking.

Melbourne Cleaning Pro doesn't claim NDIS registration on this website and isn't an NDIS funding authority. We can't tell you whether cleaning is covered for you, or approve a claim. If your plan has requirements about which providers you can use, please check them with us and with your plan manager or support coordinator before booking.

What's included, and what may need a different service

Knowing the difference helps you find the right help, rather than a service that can't do the job.

Ordinary household cleaning

What we provide:

  • Kitchen surfaces
  • Bathrooms
  • Floors
  • Dusting
  • General household areas
  • Laundry areas

Specialist work

Needs a specialist provider and separate arrangements:

  • Hazardous waste
  • Hoarding or squalor situations
  • Biohazard cleaning
  • Major restoration after damage
  • Pest-related contamination
  • Specialist exterior work

A respectful cleaning experience

  • Your home, your way

We follow how you like things done, not a routine that suits us.

  • Listening first

Priorities and preferences are agreed before the first clean starts.

  • Clear communication

You know what's planned, and who to contact if something changes.

  • Predictable visits

Agreed times and an agreed scope, so there are fewer surprises.

  • Care with belongings

Items are treated carefully, and anything you want left alone is left alone.

  • Room to adjust

If something isn't working, the routine can change.

Cleaning support across Melbourne

We provide household cleaning across Melbourne, from apartments in the city to houses and units in the suburbs. Homes and routines vary a lot across a city this size, which is exactly why we plan each service around the person rather than the postcode.

Include your suburb when you get in touch, and we'll let you know about availability. See our service areas for more.

Who this service may suit

  • People arranging regular household cleaning support
  • NDIS participants seeking domestic cleaning assistance, where it suits their arrangement
  • Families organising cleaning for a household member
  • Carers and support coordinators looking for a cleaning provider
  • Anyone who would like a consistent, predictable cleaning routine

Requesting a quote

Quotes are free and based on the actual cleaning you need. There's no fixed price, so a few details help us get it right. Don't worry if you don't have them all; we can work them out together.

NDIS cleaning questions

For general questions, see the main FAQ or browse all our services.

What is NDIS cleaning?

It's a common way of describing household cleaning arranged for an NDIS participant, such as regular cleaning of the kitchen, bathroom, floors and living areas. What's actually included is agreed with the participant or the person arranging the service, around the home and routine.

Can Melbourne Cleaning Pro provide NDIS cleaning?

We provide household cleaning that can be arranged around a participant's needs and routine. We don't claim NDIS registration on this website. If your plan or arrangement has requirements about which providers can be used, please check these with us and with your plan manager, support coordinator or the NDIS before booking.

Is cleaning automatically covered by the NDIS?

No. Funding depends on the person's circumstances, their plan and how it's managed. We can't confirm whether cleaning is covered for you. The NDIS, your plan manager or your support coordinator can.

Can my family member arrange the cleaning?

Yes. A family member can contact us to arrange cleaning, ideally with the participant's agreement. Let us know who should be contacted about visits and changes.

Can a support coordinator contact you?

Yes. Support coordinators, carers and other authorised people are welcome to contact us to discuss a participant's cleaning needs and request a quote.

What household areas can be cleaned?

Commonly the kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, living areas, laundry area and floors, including dusting and wiping general surfaces. The exact areas and tasks are agreed with you.

Can I request regular cleaning?

Yes. Regular cleaning can be arranged weekly, fortnightly or on another agreed schedule. The day and time are confirmed when the service is arranged, depending on availability.

Can I request a one-off clean?

Yes. A one-off clean can help catch up on cleaning that has built up, or prepare a home before a regular routine starts. For heavier build-up, a deep clean may suit better.

What information do you need for a quote?

Your suburb, the type of home, the rooms or areas that need cleaning, how often you'd like cleaning, your preferred day and time, priority areas, access details and who we should contact.

Do I need to explain my cleaning preferences?

It helps a lot. Tell us about priority areas, anything to leave untouched, products you prefer, pets, and how you'd like us to communicate. The more we know, the better the cleaning can fit your home.

Can cleaning be arranged around an existing routine?

That's the aim. Let us know which days and times work best, and which to avoid, such as appointments, rest times or other supports, and we'll work out an arrangement that fits where we can.

What happens during the first clean?

The first clean follows the scope and priorities agreed beforehand. Afterwards, we check in about what worked and what should change, so later visits can be adjusted.

Do you provide specialist or hazardous cleaning?

No. Hazardous waste, biohazard, hoarding or squalor situations, pest contamination and major restoration need specialist providers. We focus on ordinary household cleaning.

Can NDIS cleaning be combined with another cleaning service?

You can ask. For example, a deep clean before a regular routine starts, or window or carpet cleaning. Mention everything in your quote request, and check what your arrangement allows.

How do I request a quote?

Use the quote form and choose NDIS cleaning, or contact us. Tell us about the home, the cleaning needed, your preferred routine and the best person to contact.

Let's build a cleaning routine that works for you.

Tell us about the home, the cleaning you need and when it would suit. We'll prepare a quote based on your actual requirements, and we're happy to talk it through first.
